historic Carousel on the pier which has been used in multiple film, TV
and photo shoots. Built in 1916, it is listed in the National

You can rent a bike or rollerblades and bicycle up to Malibu or down
to Torrance. The bike trail stretches 22 miles, the longest beach
path of its kind in the world!
You can shop or window shop on Main Street or visit the high end
botiques of Montana Avenue.
Indulge in a Healthy California lifestyle while you are here. If you
want to attend Yoga classes, there are dozens to choose from. There
are plenty of boutique and well known gyms to chose from, or you can
just go running on the beach. Sample the fresh produce from one of
the many Farmers Markets. There are even organic, vegan and raw food
restaurants in this beautiful city by the bay.
Greater Location Attractions:
Bordering Santa Monica to the south is Venice Beach. In Venice you
can walk along the boardwalk or watch the bodybuilders on Muscle
Beach. Get a henna tattoo or have your fortune read while strolling
through the shops and crafts sold on the boardwalk. In Marina Del
Rey, just 3 miles south of Santa Monica, you can go on a dinner
cruise, taking sailing lessons, or learn to windsurf. Perhaps a
private gondola ride around the marina and Fisherman's Village, or go
kayaking or even sport fishing. There are all sorts of recreational
boating activities in nearby Marina Del Rey.
Downtown Los Angeles is approximately 14 miles from Santa Monica.
Hollywood is about 12 miles away, with attractions such as the Kodak
Theater, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and Grauman's Chinese Theater.
Universal Studios and Universal City Walk are both about 15 miles
away. Six Flags Magic Mountain is about 36 miles north of Santa
Monica. Disneyland, in neighboring Orange County, is about a 40 mile
drive to the southeast. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is
just 7 miles south of Santa Monica.
